Crypto VCs Focus on Market Rebound, Token Issuance Rules, and New AI Research Topics
ChainFeeds Research published a new edition of its "VC Talk" roundup on Aug. 23, collecting market views from crypto investors and operators across several firms. The piece centered on a recent rebound in crypto prices and highlighted how different participants are framing the move. Among the views cited, HashKey Capital’s Rui discussed macro and market structure factors, including long-duration bonds, the Federal Reserve’s unclear rate path, Trump’s midterm election considerations, stablecoin buyers of bonds, elevated exchange open interest, and a futures-led move in ETH. Waterdrip Capital’s Jademont pointed to two widely discussed triggers behind Bitcoin’s jump: falling 30-year U.S. Treasury yields and a new U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission proposal on token issuance, which he said was the main reason in his view. The roundup also included positioning comments from Amber Group, Syncracy Capital, DeFiance Capital, Delphi Ventures, 1confirmation, Generative Ventures, and Placeholder. In a separate section, ChainFeeds listed three recent research topics: Arthur Hayes’ new AI Agent experiment for BitMEX, IOSG Ventures’ work on what it called the demand illusion of Model Fusion, and Metrics Ventures’ market note "Talk is Cheap." The article also noted 10 publicly disclosed fundraising events from Aug. 9 to Aug. 16 totaling more than $19.5 million.
